DTG printing in Paris: direct digital printing on textiles
DTG (Direct To Garment) printing applies your design directly into the fabric, like an inkjet printer, but on a garment. Our workshop in the 20th arrondissement is equipped with a professional textile printer: it is the ideal technique for photos, gradients and highly detailed designs on cotton, from a single item.
How does it work?
- On white or light textiles (white, beige, natural…), the coloured ink is printed directly into the fibres: the design becomes part of the fabric and you barely feel it to the touch.
- On dark textiles, the garment first receives a pre-treatment, then a layer of white ink that acts as a base, and finally the colours: they stay vivid even on a black T-shirt.
Why choose DTG?
- All colours, gradients and photos, with no limit on the number of colours.
- A very soft feel, especially on light textiles.
- No setup fees: cost-effective from 1 item, and every item can be different.
On which garments?
DTG gives its best results on cotton: T-shirts, sweatshirts and hoodies, tote bags. For polyester (sports jerseys) or certain other materials, we tend to use DTF transfer instead.
DTG, DTF, screen printing or embroidery?
- DTG: photos and detailed designs on cotton, from 1 item.
- DTF: all fabrics, vivid colours and fine details, from 1 item.
- Screen printing: the most economical for large runs, from 100 items.
- Embroidery: a high-end, very durable finish for a logo.

The file to send
A sharp, large enough image (about 3,300 pixels wide for a 28 cm design), as a PNG with a transparent background if possible. A recent phone photo is often enough. We check every file before printing.
Care
Wash the garment inside out at 30 °C, with no tumble dryer and no ironing on the design: the print stays beautiful for a very long time.
