Good to know

Preparing your file
  • Transparent-background PNG (or PDF), 35 × 40 cm, 300 dpi (4134 × 4724 px). Download the template.
  • Lines and text at least 1 mm thick, 5 mm of space between designs.
  • Avoid semi-transparent shadows and gradients. No need to mirror the design.
Application settings
  • 140 à 150 °C, 10 to 15 seconds, pressure medium to high (3 to 5 bar).
  • Film removal: hot or cold, after a few seconds. Press again for 5 seconds with baking paper for maximum durability.
  • No press: steam-free iron, cotton setting, pressing hard (small designs only).
Care
  • Wash up to 40 °C, garment inside out, 24 hours after application.
  • No tumble dryer or bleach, do not iron over the design.
Which textiles?

Cotton, polyester and blends: T-shirts, sweatshirts, tote bags, workwear, light or dark textiles. Caps with a suitable press. For sportswear and technical textiles (softshell, nylon), test before a full run.

What is DTF?

Your design is printed in colour, with a white underlayer, on a film coated with adhesive powder, then heat-transferred onto the textile. No screens as in screen printing, no weeding as with flex, and no limit on colours.

No press? We apply your designs to our textiles, from 1 item. Request a quote

All about this garment

The 35 × 40 cm DTF sheet is for people who apply their own designs: workshops, clothing shops, associations with a heat press, or makers who mark their pieces as orders come in. You group as many logos and designs as the surface allows on a single sheet, then cut them out and press them when you need them.

What is the result like? Printing is in full colour with a white underlayer: colours stay vivid on light and dark textiles alike, and details hold from 1 mm. The transfer is flexible and moves with the fabric.

How do I prepare the file? Send a PNG with a transparent background at 300 dpi (4134 × 4724 px for a full sheet) or a PDF. Anything transparent is not printed; avoid lines thinner than 1 mm. We check every file free of charge before printing.

How do I apply it? With a heat press preheated to 140-150 °C, press for 10 to 15 seconds with medium to firm pressure, then peel off the film. The full step-by-step is in our guide how to apply a DTF transfer.

Prefer not to press anything yourself? We print directly on the garment: see DTF printing in Paris.

What file should I send?

A PNG with a transparent background at 300 dpi (4134 × 4724 px for a full 35 × 40 cm sheet) or a PDF. We check the file free of charge before printing: resolution, transparent background and sizes.

Can the transfer be applied with an iron?

A heat press remains the best solution, as it heats and presses the whole surface evenly. An iron can help out for a test on a small logo, but wash durability is less reliable.

How many designs can go on one sheet?

As many as the 35 × 40 cm surface allows: you group your logos and designs in a single file, then cut them out after printing.

What size are the sheets?

All our DTF sheets are 35 × 40 cm. You can place as many designs on them as you like (logos, labels, back designs…), leaving 5 mm between each one for cutting. For more than 100 sheets, request a quote.

Which file should I send?

A PNG with a transparent background of 4134 × 4724 pixels (35 × 40 cm at 300 dpi), or a PDF. Download our template from the product page. When you upload, an automatic check verifies the resolution and transparency, then the workshop checks every file for free before printing. File larger than 20 MB: send it after ordering to info@printtex.fr (WeTransfer accepted), stating your order number.

What are the lead times?

Ships within 1 to 3 working days after file approval, then 1 to 4 days in transit. Colissimo delivery €4.99 or pickup point €3.90, free from €100 of purchases. Express €18: ordered before 4 pm (working day), shipped the same day. Free collection at the workshop, 5 rue Planchat, Paris 20e.

How are the sheets shipped?

Flat, protected by a rigid cardboard, so that they arrive without creases. Keep them flat, dry and away from heat: they keep for several months before application.

Can a sheet be refunded?

Sheets are printed from your file: there is therefore no right of withdrawal (article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code). In case of a printing defect, we reprint or refund free of charge.
